I'm moving on....

My Basic Hunting and Hobby Firearms

Large Dangerous Game: .425 Express, custom rifle built on an Enfield P17 action manufactured by Remington, Shilen barrel, express leaf sights, mounting a 2x-4x Burris scope. This rifle will be my primary firearm for hunting large and dangerous game in Africa (in 2001, I hope). Throwing a 400-grain solid bullet, this will be used for Cape Buffalo.

Large Dangerous Game: .338 Winchester Magnum, Ruger M77 stainless, synthethic stock, mounting a 3x-9x Leupold Var-XII scope. This rifle is my primary weapon for hunting large Alaskan Brown Bear and large-bodied elk.

Medium/Large Game: .300 Winchester Magnum, custom rifle built on an Enfield P17 action manufactured by Remington, mounting a Redfield 3x-9x scope. A very tight group-holding rifle, rough-looking, with heavy trigger, but hard to be without because it has given me good service for over 20 years

Medium Game: .309 Winchester, Remington Model Seven, mounting a Redfield wideangle 4x scope. If I had to have only one firearm to do all of my hunting with, this would be the one. It is lightweight, short and handy, holds its zero well, good trigger, and has given me nothing but one-shot kills on deer. What more can be asked of a firearm?

I'll be telling about some of my wilderness treks so in the meantime wander around and try not to get lost so that I can warn people of the unethical practices of CTL Management, Inc. of Portland, Oregon.
